


At the age of seven, Andres participated in his first drawing contest where the judges awarded him second place. Their reasoning, for not giving him the top prize, was that his drawing was so good for a child his age it might have been traced. His mother was so offended by their decision and their accusation, that she requested the judges be present while Andres drew the same piece in front of them again. After realizing his talent was authentic, they revoked their decision and awarded him first place! It doesn’t mean much, but it’s a good story to start with...
Andres is a Colombian born digital artist. His career began in 1998 as Art Director at Young & Rubicam (Medellin-Colombia). After two years he left Y&R and became Graphic Director at J Walter Thompson. He was then called to join the team at Jaime Uribe & Asociados Y&R (now TBWA) where he was Sr. Art Director for 4 years.
In 2006 Andres moved to Miami to become part of Accentmarketing (one of the most important Hispanic market agencies of the IPG group). He is Sr. Art Director for accounts such as US NAVY, GM, Dunkin Donuts, amongst others and where he has been recognized with several awards such as Addy’s, Caribe and Ojo de Iberoamerica Advertising festivals.
In 2009 Lürzer’s ARCHIVE Magazine chose Andres for their publication as one of the 200 best illustrators worldwide.
